The Meadows Music Theatre
Nights Like This don't come around that often! Ne-Yo & Akon will be at the Meadows Music Theatre on Sunday, July 26th. This stop is part of their co-headlining tour that they're calling "Nights Like This." The music and the party atmosphere will all blend together with the lights and the "convict music" chants to craft an incredible night. Both Ne-Yo and Akon have similar career arcs, and that makes them a perfect pairing for a tour of this nature. If you're one of those people who haven't updated their playlists since the 2010's, this might just be the show for you.

This is a sneaky romantic evening dressed up as a party between Akon and Ne-Yo. Naturally, when you get Ne-Yo up there singing "So Sick," you know what you're in for: bring the tissues. If that's done, though, and Akon follows up with "Right Now," and you find yourself screaming "wish we never broke up" at the top of your lungs, you're going to realize the romantic part of the show isn't over. That's in spite of the fact that the club lights are on and we've shifted toward the party scene. There are a lot of layers to this performance, and it's certainly one of those concerts you won't regret attending.
As these concerts run their course, even Akon and Ne-Yo themselves are going to figure out how this partnership is going to work out in practice! However, coming into this tour, it seems like the idea is to mix and match some of the songs. It's not going to be your typical DJ pairing co-headlining event. Usually, what we see in those are separate sets from the main events, and we call it a day. In this case, it would be separate sets, "Play Hard" to end the night, and we're through. Yet, how are you gonna send people home right after that track? It doesn't make sense. These two are probably going to work together on stage a ton in this concert.
Remember the 200 section is the one in the middle at the front of the theater. If you're looking for the party scene, that's where you need to be. Now, there's an argument to be made that you can just as much fun out on the lawn. Sure, you miss the up close and personal touch, but you can find access for a fraction of the price. What's it gonna be for you?
