Xfinity Theatre | Hartford, CT
Celebrating their 40th year in the music industry, legendary rockers Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers are hitting the road, and they're heading to Xfinity Theatre on Wednesday 14th June 2017! As if that wasn't exciting enough, they're bringing along with them the phenomenal Joe Walsh! But don't delay in booking your tickets, this may be their last tour:
"I’m thinking it may be the last trip around the country," said Petty, "It’s very likely we’ll keep playing, but will we take on 50 shows in one tour? I don’t think so. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was thinking this might be the last big one. We’re all on the backside of our sixties. I have a granddaughter now I’d like to see as much as I can. I don’t want to spend my life on the road. This tour will take me away for four months. With a little kid, that’s a lot of time."
Known for their hits singles "American Girl", "Breakdown", "The Waiting", "Learning to Fly", "Refugee" and "Mary Jane's Last Dance," Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are an American rock band, who began their music career in 1976 in Gainesville, Florida. The band came to prominence at the forefront of the heartland rock movement of the time, alongside their contemporaries Bruce Springsteen and Pete Seeger, and have retained a large and dedicated following over the years, continuing to record albums and tour regularly. The line-up has remained largely consistent over the years, with a few exceptions, and today the band consists of: lead singer and guitar-player Tom Petty, lead guitarist Mike Campbell, bassist Ron Blair, drummer Steve Ferrone, keyboardist Benmont Tench, and multi-instrumentalist Scott Thurston. The band's most recent release, Nobody's Children, was released digitally in 2015.
